The pass system for rolling I-beams includes straight rolling pass system, skew rolling pass system and mixed pass system.
1. After finishing and weighing, the billet is loaded into the walking furnace and heated to 1200-1250℃. Most of the walking furnaces use double insulated slide rails and axial flow burners, which can provide the best temperature control for different specifications of billets and save fuel.
2. After the billet is released from the furnace, it is first descaled with 1800MPa high-pressure water, and then sent to the billet mill for rolling. The billeting machine is generally a two-roll reversible rolling mill. It needs to be rolled about 7 to 13 passes on the billeting machine, and then the rolled piece is sent to the hot saw, which is only responsible for cutting off the unformed parts of the head and tail.
3. Finally, the rolled piece is sent to the universal roughing mill for rolling. Generally, it is sent to the universal finishing mill after several passes, and is rolled for one pass and finally formed. At this time, the head and tail are cut off again, and the rolled piece is cut into fixed length according to the order requirements and sent to the cooling bed for cooling.
Whether the I-beam is ordinary or light, due to the relatively high and narrow section size, the moment of inertia of the two main axes of the section is quite different, so it can only be directly used for bending in the plane of its web. member or form it into a lattice-type force-bearing member. It is not suitable for axial compression members or members that are perpendicular to the plane of the web and bending, which makes it very limited in the scope of application. I-beams are widely used in construction or other metal structures.
Ordinary I-beam and light-duty I-beam have relatively high and narrow cross-sectional dimensions, so the moment of inertia of the two main axes of the cross-section is quite different, which makes it very limited in the scope of application. The use of I-beam should be selected according to the requirements of the design drawings.
